My Story
In the chilly Armidale winter of 2012, 10 year old Jackson Cook asked his grandmother to make him a lumberjack style hat.
Watching his grandmother sew, Jackson became fascinated by the process of the hat construction and it wasn’t long before he started to sew the hats himself.
Family, friends and the wider community were keen for one of Jackson’s hats and so in 2014 he started a market stall. He ran the stall for 4 years selling his hats and along the way developed and sewed a range of pencil cases, tote bags, cushions and Christmas gifts.
Thus, the House of Jackson was born.
During his time at the markets Jackson discovered and fell in love with patchwork and quilting, purchasing his first long arm quilting machine in 2021.
He is now a brand Ambassador for Grace long arm quilting machines and in July 2022 flew to the USA to run classes in free motion quilting at the Salt Lake City Quilt Festival.
Jackson is knowledgeable and passionate about the art of quilting. He offers both edge to edge and custom quilting, so pop in to his studio today to see how he can bring your quilt visions to life or inspire your creativity with classes on offer
